If memory serves me correctly, I think the Savage is geared to make redline at 30mph in first, 50 in second, 70 in third, 90 in fourth (going downhill, downwind, and 100 if fifth (yeah, right). It's been my experience that shifting short of those numbers makes for a little better acceleration, but not as much cool noise. Then again, I don't have a Supertrapp on mine (yet). ;-) Ride safe. --Skeeter
